I've been working on the SmugMug web application since 2015. It provides a truly awesome combination of software solutions for photographers – from hobbyists looking to manage and backup a massive library of photos, to pro photographers who leverage our custom e-commerce platform. As a Sorcerer (Senior Software Engineer) at SmugMug I get to write cutting edge React code in TypeScript, backed by GraphQL and a deeply rooted PHP backend. Working on a 20 year old web application has been the coding adventure and archaeological dig of a lifetime. My own personal photography website, pictured below, is built using our advanced photo website customization tools.
